This butterfly costume was created for the masquerade scene in Phantom of the Opera. I used different embroidery techniques to embellish the wings of the butterfly. I wanted the mask to be attached to the butterfly 'breast-plate' piece of the garment, so I constructed a wired padded strip that wraps around the body holding each piece in place.
